Free Play/unstructured play

  • Free play is a very important form of learning for children
  • Mothers and children will spend 5 mints
  • This sparks creativity by helping children plan their play
  • It helps the child to play independently and explore his/her environment
  • Unstructured play helps children in decision making and problem solving skills

 

Circle Time

  • Circle time sets the tone for the day about 15 mints
  • This helps create a sense of time and routine
  • At circle time a quick attendance is taken with the help of attendance cards,
  • We talk of day of the week, which month  we are in and what the whether like outside.
  • Circle time equates the energy of all the children attending by singing rhymes .

 

Move you body

  • A day dedicated for moms and babies to flex and stretch heir muscles
  • 15 minutes
  • We alternate exercise with Yoga, music and movement
  • Skills developed are gross motor muscles, to follow instructions, self confidence

 

Lets get messy..... Art activity

  • Messy is always fun . 30 mints for children to get their masterpiece done
  • Letting children explore different textures, tools and things to appreciate art
  • Feather painting, pebble painting, free hand painting, leaf painting, sponge dabbing, feet painting .
  • This also involves to get messy    

 

Activity time

  • Children are curious beings that want to learn and understand the world around them
  • 30 mints of activity time
  • Activity time helps in cognitive development
  • Helps increase attention span in children
  • Activities like sorting beads, stacking things, matching colors and objects.

 

Free Play/unstructured play

  • Greeting children and parents plays an important role as educators. Welcoming them with a smile and ensure you know the name of the child who is attending the program
  • Free play for children is unstructured but as educators we need to structure the place ensure its safe and welcoming
  • Role play and block zone can be used also you can use  these zones to introduce concepts, if you are introducing colour yellow ou can have only yellow color blocks and Lego of yellow color .
  • Free play is for 5 mints, after which the children and mothers need put the toys away in its place
  • Encourage the mothers to be involved in the free play, to have conversations with their child and the other children in the class
  • The most important skill developed is the “Social skill” children will need to share and play parallel with other mothers and friends in the class.

 

Circle Time

  • Circle time sets the tone for the day about 15 mints
  • This helps create a  sense of time and routine
  • Things required for circle time : circle mat, attendance card, for rhyme time flash ards or magic bag, weather, day and month chart
  • At circle time a quick attendance is taken with the help of attendance cards, educators need to keep the cards ready in a tray so you can pass on the ask the mother to help the child pick his photo or name (for older children)
  • Skill developed:  name recognition, literacy skill, ye hand coordination, fine and gross motor development
  • We talk of day of the week, which on the we are in and what the whether like outside.

  • We alternate exercise with Yoga, music and movement
  • Requirements : enough space for mothers and children to exercise or perform yoga, music system, songs . (mothers to carry yoga mats)
  • Skills developed are gross motor muscles, to follow instructions, self confidence

  • Requirements: smocks, paints, brushes, white paper cut into A 4 or ifferent shapes or different materials for art painting.
  • Feather painting, pebble painting, free hand painting, leaf painting, sponge dabbing, feet painting. 
  • This also involves getting messy .

 

Activity time

  • Children are curious beings that want to learn and understand the world around them
  • 30 mints of activity time
  • Activity time helps in cognitive development
  • Helps increase attention span in children
  • Activities like sorting beads, stacking things, matching colors  and objects

 

Language time

  • Just as we start the day with circle time, we end the session with language time
  • 15 mints
  • Requirements: story books, magic bag, concept tray
  • At language time concepts are introduced like in the month of fruits, each day one  fruit is introduced for example apple : you show the child the  different colors of apple green, red, red and yellow, yellow and pink apples   . How we consume apple? Apple juice, apple pie, apple sauce.
  • Puppet shows, picture talk, story time
  • The last 5 mints of the program  is spent in talki.
